Bracket is a local HTML, CSS, and JavaScript workbench for building and learning to code, developed by Adan Cortez Alvarez. This page describes how Bracket handles your information and how to reach us for support.
Privacy Policy
Summary
Bracket does not operate an account system, does not collect analytics, does not display advertising, and does not upload your projects to any server. Almost everything Bracket does happens entirely on your own device.
What Bracket stores, and where
Bracket stores your projects, drafts, preferences, imported tutorials, and any data from apps you launch within Bracket directly on your Mac. If you choose a project folder, named projects are also saved there. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party by Bracket itself.
Network requests you control
Code you write in Bracket can make network requests, and you may optionally add external libraries, fonts, or images (for example, via a CDN). When you do, those resources connect directly to their own providers, which may receive your IP address and request information as a normal part of serving that resource. These features require an internet connection, and we recommend only running code and adding external libraries that you trust.
Deleting your data
Removing a project from the project list deletes its local copy from Bracket's app storage. Files you've exported and project folders you've chosen remain on your disk until you remove them yourself (for example, in Finder). Uninstalling Bracket does not automatically delete files you've saved elsewhere on your computer.
Children's privacy
Bracket does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because Bracket does not collect personal data at all, there is no data to be gathered from users of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
